Linet has benefited from the skills Emily developed during her Fellowship at Hyderabad. Emily’s team at the Nyeri Provincial Hospital carried out 40 cleft surgeries between April and November of this year and are now carrying out two operations per week. Congratulations to Dr Emily Nyamu and her team! One of the theatre nurses will start a speech therapy course in February, an integral aspect of cleft care. Future Faces is proud to see that the model of skilled surgery followed by complete care including disability awareness is taking place in rural Kenya!
